Particle Identification with a Fine Sampling Ionization
Introduction charge collection) of Q 104. The drift field was chosen to give an electron drift velocity of 1 cm/usec. %1/5 the saturated velocity in this gas mixture. The volume of uniform field (adequate for longitudinal drift measurenents of dE/dx) extends to within +3 mm of the sense plane and +l mm of the cathode planes. Hence, in principle, 80% of the track length through a chamber of this...
متن کاملDevelopments in Continuous Fine Particle Mass Monitoring: Sample Equilibration and Differential Particle Sampling
Two major advances in real-time monitoring of fine particles were supported under this research. These include reducing the moisture content of the sampled ambient air so that the temperature of the device could be reduced from 50°C to 30°C, and developing an innova tive approach to account for the loss of semivolatile materials on the filter surface. The devices have the potential to provide ...
متن کاملComparative modeling approaches for personal exposure to particle-associated PAH.
Several models for simulation of personal exposure (PE) to particle-associated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) have been developed and tested. The modeling approaches include linear regression models (Model 1), time activity weighted models (Models 2 and 3), a hybrid model (Model 4), a univariate linear model (Model 5), and machine learning technique models (Model 6 and 7). The hybrid mo...
متن کاملDynamics in fine particle magnets
Several magnetic fine particle systems have been studied with selective excitation double Mössbauer ~SEDM! spectroscopy. Static disorder, collective excitations, and superparamagnetic spin flips are all detected and their contributions quantified. Zero-field muon spin relaxation spectroscopy has been used to confirm these observations in one sample. A theoretical description of SEDM spectra in ...
متن کاملAutomatic platelet counting with the Couler particle counter.
A method for accurately counting platelets is described using the Coulter counter model B fitted with a standard 100mu aperture tube. This enables the counter to be used for red and white cell as well as platelet counts using the same aperture tube. The method uses standard equipment except for a small inexpensive electronic speed controller.
